Dr. Amy Gilchrest, MD, University of Texas Medical School. Obstetrician. Amy has been practicing medicine for three years after completing her Residency and a fellowship in Obstetrics. She is Evelyn’s doctor, who treated her for a case of chlamydia. Given to Evelyn by her husband compliments of his girlfriend just before Evelyn filed for divorce. Amy loves practicing medicine, but has recently decided she needs to be involved in a larger practice. She is far too involved in her practice to have a social life or boyfriend, but yearns for a better personal life than the one she currently has. A larger practice where responsibilities are shared would remove much of the stress in her life and she hopes to actually have a personal life.
Amy has been speaking to a doctor friend of hers about joining their practices. Of course, this was before Amy joined Adam’s group. Amy knew she wanted to be a doctor even before she finished high school. Throughout her college years, she was singularly focused on being admitted to medical school. Once she accomplished that goal, she decided to become an obstetrician and became wholly focused on doing that. She met her future husband during her Internship. She was lonely. He was attractive, and they had great sex, so Amy rushed into a marriage before she should have. They had only been married for a few months when she discovered her husband had another woman he was having sex with. That union resulted in Amy’s Chlamydia infection and divorce that followed.
